A gift for the friend in a singular place

For any artist from the province, it is always difficult to access the promotion and presentation places in the country capital , even if that artist comes from a territory as close to Havana as Artemisa.
Ángel Díaz Silvestre Morales, a painter from Caimito township ,has had this "luck" more than once .This painter is one of most active artists that anyone could imagine, with a broad curriculum in the field of canvas, but also in illustration , cultural promotion and design.
Now it is the time of one of the most recognized places , located near Maleconr: Gato Tuerto night club, where he has just inaugurated his personal exhibition El amigo (the friend), composed by several of the elements that throughout his life have been present in his creative universe.
Journalist Julio Acanda, artistic director of this night club and knowledgeable of plastic arts in Bauta, gave his decisive collaboration for El Amigo exhibition , as well as at other times he recognized in television the work of two other Bauta´s artists : painter Exequiel Sánchez and promoter Zoila Díaz.
Regarding this exhibition, the well-known journalist and art critic, Jorge Rivas Rodríguez, commented in his introductory words. "Silvestre proposes here a series of oil paintings that we not only perceive as a result of a profession endorsed by many years of experience, but as the consequence of ceaseless work".
And he adds about the artist from Caimito: "first of all, he feels the need to express, through art, passions and emotions reflected through symbolic forms, which arise from intimate, profound, very personal memory".
Gato Tuerto night club , venue for many performances by the greatest creators of Cuban music in the 20th century and nowadays, opened its doors to host the plastic work of a man who, at 65, does not stop dreaming or to draw new directions in the space, countryside or city, that life puts at hand.
