Electric War, Another Crusade against Venezuela

Caracas - Venezuela continues on Friday under the ravages of a sabotage to the electric service that affected much of the country on Thursday, an action denounced by President Nicolas Maduro as another U.S.-led crusade.

'Electric war announced and directed by U.S. imperialism against our people will be defeated. Nothing and no one will be capable of defeating the people of Bolivar and Chavez,' the president said.

Maduro appealed to the unity of the patriots to face the attacks.

On Thursday afternoon, several Venezuelan states were left in darkness in what Minister for Communication Jorge Rodriguez described as criminal and brutal sabotage.

According to the official, the intention was to subject the people to several days without power supply, after affecting Guri, the major generation and distribution system, located in Bolivar state.

Rodriguez said that U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, one of the most actively engaged in the campaign to overthrow the Bolivarian Revolution, immediately echoed the attack.

The executive vice president said that in the next few hours, the truth will be known about the attack the sector is constantly facing.
