New Business Portfolio from Cuba to be Presented in Japan

Tokyo - The updated annual portfolio of business opportunities for foreign investment in Cuba will be presented next week in Japan, diplomatic sources informed in this capital.
For the coming days 14 and 15 of March are planned in the cities of Tokyo and Osaka, respectively, two seminars to promote foreign investment in the Caribbean island, anounced on Sunday the Cuban ambassador in this nation, Carlos Miguel Pereira, in his Facebook page.
The events are sponsored by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Embassy of the Greater Antilles in Japan, Pereira said.
This is an opportunity to learn about the Cuban business environment and the possibilities for Japanese investment, highlights the Onudi on its website.
Irmina Perojo, an official from Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex) will be in charge of presenting the updated portfolio on business opportunities for foreign capital.
During his stay in Japan, Perojo will carry out an intense program of activities that includes meetings with the main companies and commercial houses in Japan, Pereira said in his publication.
The activity in Tokyo will take place at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy, while that of the 15th will be at the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The portfolio of opportunities for foreign investment 2018-2019 in Cuba has 525 projects, 69 more than the previous year, informed Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Mincex, during his official presentation.
Malmierca pointed out during the presentation made in the context of the 36th edition of the International Fair of Havana (Fihav 2018), in which businesses in sectors such as tourism, oil and the agro-food sector stand out.
On that occasion, the official stressed that among the fundamental objectives of the portfolio are the promotion of exports and the productive chain, as well as import substitution.

Havana - Cuba is a nation with a wealth of culture, stated the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Audrey Azoulay, at the inauguration of the 41st International Festival of New Latin American Cinema on Thursday, running through December 15 in this capital.
