Cuba to attend the Mexican Taekwondo Open

Havana, Cuba - The seven Cubans qualified to the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will participate from next April 11-14 at the Mexican Taekwondo Open, a G 1 tournament to be attended by more than 160 athletes from the Americas, Asia and Africa.
The contest, which will award 10 points for the world ranking to the winner of each division, will be held at the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports Hall, in Mexico City.
The Cuban team is headed by Glenhis Hernandez (73 kg), Mexico 2013 world champion, and Yania Aguirre (49), Toronto 2015 Pan American monarch and Mexico 2013 global bronze medalist.
Arlettys Acosta (67) and Tamara Roble (57), queens of the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018, complete the women's squad.
Meanwhile, the men´s side is made up by Rafael Alba (+ 80), Mexico 2013 universal champion; José Angel Cobas (80), Toronto 2015 Pan-American monarch; and the young prospect Rogelio Lopez (68), who already qualified to Lima 2019 but is still without points in the world ranking.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
