The Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, could visit the United States late April with the objective of holding talks with the North American President, Donald Trump, according to the local press this Friday.

On their trip to Washington, scheduled for April 26 and 27, Abe and Trump should talk about trade issues and Trump's visit to Tokyo in late May, says the Kyodo news agency, quoting sources familiar with the issue.

While the United States wants a free trade agreement with Japan that covers a variety of areas, including goods, services, investment and foreign exchange, the Japanese government insists on the pact should only include products.

Besides, the two leaders should talk about what to do about North Korea after last February's summit between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Vietnam concluded without agreement.

According to The Mainichi newspaper, before arriving in the United States, the Head of the Japanese executive plans making stops in France and other European countries as part of the preparations for the summit of 20 global and emerging economies to be held in June in Osaka.
