Love, sacrifice, joy and much dedication, could be words that summarize the daily work of Los Cuenteros, a theater company that has just finished a tour in Granma, Villa Clara and Sancti Spíritus provinces , as part of the program for its 50th anniversary, in November.

Each performance is accompanied by excellent scenography and those dolls that catch the attention of the whole family, and are stitched together to a legend full of teachings, but told in an entertaining and intelligent way.

This is how The tyrant and the mother of water will appear in just few months , by Matanzas playwright Ulises Rodríguez Febles, a story based on the popular culture of the Cuban farmer, and it is said there was one that frightened the locals in San Antonio de los Baños township.

In this new work the group will perform due its half a century, there is a child who seeks revenge on the mother of water, because he considers her guilty of the immense proportion of his nose, and then changes his mind.

Beyond their versatility, Los Cuenteros are a reference for kids entertainment : their most important repertoire is aimed at children, with proposals full of dissimilar entertainment resources.

"We have improved in the acquisition of raw materials to make the scenery and the puppets, with lots of color and surprisingly animated. But above all, we keep on creating. "

Capote takes the opportunity to convey an infinite gratitude to many persons in San Antonio who give gloves, masks, pieces of cloth, capes and other accessories ... and to the Cuban public for their love and respect.

However, the cultural projects of this company are scarce in San Antonio de los Baños, right where its members live, conceive and assemble their works, mainly due to the lack of a dignified place to present shows and receive guests, willing to arrive from other places Cuban locations.
