Representatives of traditional music of the Cuban countryside (Música Campesina) participated in the Eduardo Saborit Música Campesina Contest held at the Casa de la Música in Artemisa. The event was sponsored by the Provincial Directorate of Houses of Culture and the Bureau of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP).

The municipality of San Antonio de los Baños was represented by Los Corales, directed by Gilberto Rodríguez. The group is also integrated by Carlos Enrique Almaguer, Wilber Vargas and Enrique Sánchez, who were recognized by the jury, made up of representatives from the Provincial Directorate of Culture and the television program ''Palmas y Cañas''.

Idael Núñez González from Ariguanabo, who was awarded the First Prize in the modalities of Oral Narration and Repentismo, said that it is important to rescue genders such as Oral Narration and Anthological Décimas. "It was an honor to sing décimas related to the Cuban Wars of Independence. This year I will have the opportunity to cultivate these modalities of Campesina Music in other events to be held in the provinces of Sancti Spíritus and Matanzas,'' added Idael.
