Humans with rights

A brushstroke to enforce human rights and conquer a more equitable and just world has been the essence of the XXI International Biennial of Graphic Humor, which brings together creators from Cuba and the world in San Antonio de los Baños until April 3rd, linked together by several categories of graphic arts.
This is how it was shown in the collective mural, made - in a very jovial way - by several hands, and where it is claimed in favor of peace, gender equality, spiritual and intellectual growth, and by non-interference in the nations affairs …
Superior in quality and number of works, the International Fair, received in the house of the Museum of Humor, 1 400 works of 500 authors, from 55 countries, of which, more than half were in competition, and their results , will be announced as the culmination of the event, on the afternoon of April 3rd.
A prestigious jury, made up of artists from Russia, Japan, Portugal, Belgium, the United States and Cuba, has the complex task of deliberating for those works best achieved from the various categories: General Humor, Photography, Comic, Political Satire and Personal Caricature.
Among the attractions of this tradition that marks the culture in San Antonio , there is a tweet for human rights, starting at 11:45 am, convened by the Union of Journalists of Cuba, the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Association of the United Nations and the Museum of Humor.
The Megaexpo "Humor Reverde" will also be open, in charge of Cartonclub and the Ariguanabo Foundation, the documentary "I will go by San Antonio de los Baños", by Gloria Torres, will be shown, and the prizes of the contest " Kites for human rights and against the Helms-Burton Law.
The tribute to Tomás Rodríguez (Tomy) will take place tomorrow , an expert of graphic humor and deceased, whose name honored the online modality of the contest.
The closing day begins tomorrow with the collective exhibition "40 years of humor and reflections", at 10:00 am at Raymundo Valenzuela Culture House , and an hour later, at the International Film and Television School, the creator Ángel Boligán , will show his exhibition "Lágrimas verdes".
A new edition of the Graphic Humor, which celebrates on this occasion - in a very special way - the 40th anniversary of the Museum of Humor in San Antonio de los Baños, a town of great cartoonists as Eduardo Abela and René de la Nuez.
It is not surprising then, that San Antonio Inhabitants have been accompanied during the main scheduled activities, by Gladys Martínez, member of the Central Committee of the Party and First Secretary of the Party in Artemisa, Alpido Alonso, Minister of Culture, Ricardo Ronquillo, president of the Union of Journalists of Cuba, and other authorities of the territory and the country.
