Cuba to attend Pan-Am Games Boxing Qualifiers with very strong team

The favorite Cuban team will depart today for Managua, capital of Nicaragua, to participate in the 2019 Pan-Am Games Boxing Qualifiers.
The tournament, which will be held at Alexis Argüello Sports Center from April 2-11 and that will be attended by 244 boxers from 32 countries, will grant eight berths for each division, both for men and women, to the Pan American Games to take place from next July 26 to August 11 in Lima, Peru.
The powerful Cuban men´s squad appears as favorite to go to Lima with an entire team as it includes Olympic, world and World Series of Boxing (WSB) champions.
Rolando Acebal, Cuban head coach, chose Damian Arce in the 49 kilograms class, while the world monarch Yosbany Veitia will be in the 52 kg division and the young Osvel Caballero, 2019 WSB champion, will assume the challenge in the 56 kilos.
The Caribbean squad is completed by the three-time universal champion Lazaro Alvarez (60), reigning global king Andy Cruz (64), as well as the Olympic and world champions Roniel Iglesias (69), Arlen Lopez (75) and Julio Cesar La Cruz (81), the current planet champion Erislandy Savon (91) and newcomer Dainier Pero (+91), 2016 youth world monarch.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''.
