A drop of love

Artemisa, Cuba - The Iván Portuondo Blood Bank, located in the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños, province of Artemisa, complied with the blood donations plan, corresponding to the first quarter of 2019.
According to Amarilis Valdés, director of the institution, the center's monthly plan (one hundred blood donations) has been completed so far this year. The institution works jointly with the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) and the Workers' Unions. The peasant sector is the most outstanding, especially the Basic Units of Cooperative Production (UBPC) Batalla de las Guásimas and Briones Montoto, Valdés added.
The Bank receives blood donations from the municipalities of Alquízar, Guanajay, Caimito, Bauta, Artemisa and Güira de Melena. In addition, it distributes blood donations to the hospitals: Ciro Redondo, in Artemisa; José Ramón Martínez, in Guanajay; Iván Portuondo, in San Antonio de los Baños.
