The Golden Age Workshop

The Municipal Council of the José Martí Cultural Society and the Municipal University Center (CUM), in Guanajay, Artemisa, convene the workshop La Edad de Oro (The Golden Age), on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of José Martí’s children’s magazine, a classic work of children's literature.
According to José Fernández, president of the José Martí Society in Guanajay and professor at the University of Artemisa, ''students and professors from the Municipal University Center can participate, especially those of the Social Communication career. The work to be analyzed in the workshop will be "The Golden Age", or a story from this magazine''.
Among the general themes of the workshop are: Communication and the role of the social communicator, Values education, General-integral culture, Latin American identity, The history of our America, The conception of development, The importance of defense, Tolerance , Social Justice, The Meaning of Death, The Meaning of Beauty.
The Workshop includes the following genres: Literature: article, monograph, evaluative commentary; Plastic Arts: drawing, painting, mixed media, ceramics, craft, model; Media or Communication: review, report, radio or TV news, web page, photography, logo for the workshop, mobile application, recognition and / or prize for the winners of the event, among others.
Fernandez specified that participants must submit a written summary with the following characteristics: Title, author (s) -up to three-, mobile phone, or email; gender and modality. For students, (current study year); For workers, (scientific or academic category).

The works will be delivered at the University Center, in Guanajay, until April 24. It will be held on April 27, at 2:00 pm, at the aforementioned center.
