Three Cubans to debut today in 2019 Pan-Am Weightlifting Championships

Woman Ludia Montero and men Otto Oñate and Arley Calderon will debut today representing Cuba in the Pan-American Weightlifting Championship, tournament that will grant points for the ranking of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
According to the program released by the National Weightlifting Federation of Guatemala, headquarters of the contest, Montero (49 kg) and Oñate and Calderón (61 kilos each) will start competing today.
Oñate and Calderon will be involved in a very tough fight with the presence in their division of strong opponents, such as Colombian Francisco Mosquera, gold, silver and bronze medalist in different world championships.
In the Cuban team also stand out woman Marina Rodriguez (64), Toronto 2015 Pan-Am Games runner-up and gold and silver medalist at Barranquilla 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games; as well as man Luis Manuel Lauret (+ 109),who set a Central American and Caribbean record in Barranquilla, in addition to earn the crown of that event.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
