Cuba to Host ICT Management Systems Meeting

Havana - Information technology specialists from Europe, the United States and Cuba will participate here in a meeting on information technology management systems, official sources announced here.
The II Meeting on Management Systems for Information and Communication Technologies is organized by the Institute of Scientific and Technological Information (IDICT), of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and the Information Technology Company (ETI) of BioCubaFarma, the largest pharmaceutical producing, distributing and marketing company in the country.
The Melia Marina hotel in the Varadero spa in the western province of Matanzas will host the event, from September 24 to 26, confirmed ETI communication specialists to Prensa Latina.
In this edition, the event includes in its academic program an International Seminar on new trends and applications for high-performance computing platforms SICAR 2019.
In addition to this, there are three international workshops: Business Intelligence; Computerization and Process Automation, as well as the one aimed at getting to know the current challenges and perspectives of cyber-security.
Several academicians such as the Spanish Alba Santo, of the University of Alicante and his colleague Juan Carlos Vergara, of the Center for Surveillance, Standards and Patents confirmed their participation in SIGESTIC 2019.
Also the US academician Rafael Mayo, from Harvard University, as well as Dieter Roefs, from Ghent University, in Belgium.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
