Cuban Hero Ends Intense Work Visit to Argentina

Buenos Aires - Cuban hero Ramon Labañino, Vice President of the Association of Economists and Accountants (ANEC), finished an intense work program today with a meeting with officials of the Association of Argentine Cooperatives (ACA).
The anti-terrorist fighter was received by the President of that association, Claudio M. Soumoulou, with whom he addressed issues related to the economy and exchanged experiences in this sector.
Labañino, who was accompanied by the trade counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Argentina, Aniurka Ortiz, and other members of that office, learned about some practices of the ACA, dedicated to providing solutions to cooperatives and agricultural producers.
The Cuban hero arrived in Buenos Aires last Monday and as Vice President of the ANEC he developed an important work agenda in this capital and in the city of Rosario where he met with executives of companies, including the president of the Mobilizing Institute of Cooperative Funds SCL, Jorge Petteta, among others.
In parallel, he also spoke with members of the Argentine Movement of Solidarity with Cuba and presented his book Hombre del Silencio (Man of Silencio) at the house of friendship between the two countries and at the Book Fair in Buenos Aires.
The text, which includes several photos, is a hard account of the 12 of the 16 years of prison that he suffered unjustly in the United States for defending his country from terrorist acts planned by the right rancid of Florida.
Ramon, who along with his fight fellows Rene Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, suffered difficult moments, tells how he lived with drug traffickers and criminals in prison.
During his visit, he left several messages to the solidarity friends of the island in complex moments for Latin America and also for Cuba, haunted by the United States with the resurgence of the economic, financial and commercial blockade against the island.
Unity is the keyword; we cannot be tired of repeating it. We have to move the sun and not lose hope, he said in one of his speeches while calling to defend the Great Homeland in a large block to face the onslaught of imperialism in Latin America.
This is the fourth visit of Labañino to Argentina, a country that marks him particularly because every time he steps on this land it is, as he says, to find in it the essence of Che Guevara, to revitalize himself with such revolutionary energy.
