President: Cuba Ratifies its Freedom, Independence and Sovereignty

Havana - President Miguel Diaz-Canel ratified on Wednesday that Cuba is free, independent, sovereign and socialist.

'We are on our way to the Square. We will give a convincing, strong and revolutionary response to the statements full of threats, provocations, lies and slanders from the Yankee empire. Cuba ratifies that we are free, sovereign, independent and socialist,' the president wrote on his Twitter account.

In another message, Diaz-Canel said, 'Fidel expressed, 'Cuba struggles today against the seven-league giant whom Marti was the first to discover and whose steps not only extend to the lands of our Americas but to all regions on the planet''.

'The people of Cuba are ready at Revolution Square to start a historic parade on International Workers' Day. Long live Cuba!,' the head of State said on social networks.
