Cuba will play in the Women´s Softball Americas Women´s Olympic Qualifying Group A, from August 25 to September 1 in Surrey, Canada, confirmed the World Baseball and Softball Confederation.
The draw determined that the Cuban team will have the Canadians, favorites to win one of two Olympic spots, the Puerto Ricans, champions of the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018, Bahamians, Guatemalans and Argentines as contenders .
On the other hand, Pool B will have the teams of Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, British Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic.
Cuba will make its debut on August 25 against Canada in the match of the day and from 26 to 29 will play the Bahamas, Argentina, Guatemala and Puerto Rico in that order.
The three best teams in each section will advance to the Super Round. The first two places of the final phase will reach the tickets heading to Tokyo 2020.
Cuba, together with Canada and Puerto Rico are the favorite teams in section A.
