Russia Urges the US Gov't again to Stop Meddling in Venezuela

Moscow - Russia''s Foreign Minister Serguei Lavrov has urges again the US Government to stop meddling in Venezuela''s internal affairs and rebuffed the threat of a military intervention against that country.
In a telephone conversation, Lavrov reportedly told Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to halt intrusion in the internal affairs of a sovereign State as it is the case of Venezuela, as well as stop threatening its authorities.
According to an official statement, the Russian Foreign Minister told Pompeo that continuation of the aggressive policy against Venezuela bears the most negative of consequences.
Foreign Relations Spokeswoman Maria Zajarova compared lies uttered by Pompeo about an alleged intent of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro of fleeing his country to the same statements and reports broadcast about Syrian top leader Bashar al Assad.
In the case of Venezuela, such lies were intended to demoralize the Venezuelan Armed Forces, but Washington failed.
On Tuesday, a score of military were involved in an failed coup attempt near La Carlota air base with direct involvement of the Venezuelan right-wing. Most of the soldiers abandoned the group and returned to their units. They said they had been cheated into joining the violent action against the legitimate and constitutional government of Maduro.
