Kikirito Project

Kikirito is a project made up of a group of children from the municipality of Güira de Melena, in the province of Artemisa. These children have been traveling in the audiovisual world for three years. Nilma Ravelo Cabrera, a very enthusiastic young girl, directs them.
The beginning
Kikirito was created from a newscast with information on culture, sports, environment, and a section of opinions. Here, the outstanding children in the world of arts, studies, sports or any other interesting topic are interviewed.
Works that endorse the work of these children
''Reina de la pradera'' is a fiction short film based on a real theme: School Bullying. This short film addresses the negative behaviors that affect interpersonal relationships and society.
Projects
At present Kikirito is recording an audiovisual entitled El fantasma amoroso. It is a story about a supposed ghost that lived in Güira de Melena. A funny and unique story with several characters.
This group belongs to the Red Cámara Chica, sponsored by the Casas de Cultura Network and the British Council. They have participated in events such as the Network of the Latin America Children`s Audiovisual Universe.
Awards
January, 2019. Prize for the short films '' Reina de la pradera '' and '' La buena acción '' (fiction). The Provincial Film Office awarded a specialized prize to the audiovisual "La Buena acción". Andy Barrientos, moderator of '' La reina de la pradera '', was awarded.
New events
From May 21 to 24, the members of the Kikirito project will present the material La buena acción at the Rodando Fantasía event, to be held in Santa Clara.
Culture
Fidel's presence was recalled in several Ariguanabo centers and institutions. Students from the Eduardo Abela Vocational School of Art, located in San Antonio de los Baños, paid tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, through dance and music.
