For the tobacco sector

Artemisa, Cuba - The Tobacco Research Institute, located in San Antonio de los Baños, contributes to the development of the tobacco sector in Cuba.
With different projects, the Institute creates different varieties of quality seeds, resistant to pests and diseases, for the production of layers for export. With more than thirty researchers categorized, the Science and Technology Company makes investments with the aim of improving the processes of creating original, basic and certified seeds. In this sense, a Pelletizing Plant will be established that will favor the increase of seed size, being useful for its germination.
Thanks to the constant work of the workers of the Tobacco Research Institute, tobacco crops are guaranteed in Cuba, with higher yields in the thirty thousand hectares destined for the sowing of the aromatic leaf, in addition to the industrial processes that make the Cuban cigar unique in the world.
