Venezuela Foreign Minister Meets Top Cuban Authorities

Havana - Cuban leaders Raul Castro Ruz and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez discussed bilateral issues in Havana with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza on Monday night, Granma newspaper reports on Tuesday.

Arreaza is in Havana leading a Venezuelan delegation that participates in the 18th ALBA-TCP Political Council, currently taking place in this capital.

According to Granma newspaper, the meeting of the Venezuelan foreign minister with Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, took place in a fraternal atmosphere.

'They highlighted the solid ties that unite Cuba and Venezuela and exchanged on issues of the regional and international agenda ... Arreaza thanked the permanent solidarity of the Cuban people and government,' Granma adds.

Raul Castro and Diaz-Canel reiterated during that meeting their support for constitutional President Nicolas Maduro Moros and the civic-military union of the Venezuelan people.

Foreign Minister Arreaza ratified the commitment of the Bolivarian Revolution with the principles endorsed in the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as Zone of Peace, the official note stated.

Venezuelan ambassador to Cuba Adan Chavez Frias and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla were present at these conversations held on Monday night.
