Artemisa, Cuba - The Ariguanabo Foundation (FUNDAR), established in San Antonio de los Baños in 2018, with the aim of promoting environmental and cultural education, organizes several activities on the occasion of World Environment Day, to be held on June 5.
With the support of FUNDAR, conferences on environmental issues will be given from June 4 to 18, including: ''The African snail in Cuba'' and ''The environmental challenges of the post-industrial society''. Another action will be the cleaning and collection of solid waste in the urban area of ??the Ariguanabo River, scheduled for June 1.
On June 5, World Environment Day, an activity will be held in the José Martí Park and a Speleological Photo Exhibition will be inaugurated at the José Rafael Lauzán Municipal Museum, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Children's drawing competitions on environmental issues will be held in the Humor Museum and the Julio Rosas Municipal Library. Giraldo Alayón, scientist and president of the Ariguanabo Foundation, will give a video-debate on the documentary “Lo más desconocido'', on June 17, at the theater of the Mayorista Company in San Antonio de los Baños.
