Moscow - Cuban Council of Ministers Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas is analyzing on Monday with Russian Transport Minister Evgueni Ditrij the compliance with bilateral agreements and prospects for further cooperation on this field.
After Cabrisas met in January in Moscow with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Kozak and Ditrij, he highlighted the basis for cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership between the two countries.
Such collaboration includes air, maritime, automotive and rail transportation, and energy, with the construction of blocs for thermoelectric plants, he said.
On January 23, Russia and Cuba signed an agreement in Moscow to purchase 23 locomotives.
Cuban General Transport Provider Company (Tradex) and the Briansk Machine-Building Plant, belonging to the Transmasholding group, signed the agreement for the purchase of 2,500-horsepower locomotives.
The agreement for the purchase of the aforementioned locomotives also includes the training of Cuban personnel and the supply of spare parts that ensure proper exploitation in Cuba.
The Cuban vice president's visit also includes a meeting on Tuesday with Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitri Patrushev, and deputy head of the Russian government Yuri Borisov.
