Artemisa, Cuba - The National Group of the Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture Program will tour San Antonio de los Baños, with the objective of evaluating agricultural subprograms.

According to Yaima Hernández, director of Granja Urbana Base Enterprise Unit (UEB), the 84th Tour of the National Group will include some plots of a selected People's Council of the territory, on June 12 and 13, as well as some prioritized Public Health Centers -the Maternity Home, the Grandparents Home and some childcare centers- with the objective of verifying the distribution of vegetables, mainly by cooperatives and organic urban farms. They will also visit the medicinal plant and seed farms. Another subprogram to be verified is the application of organic fertilizers on farms.

Yuniel González Paneque -cattle rancher- is proposed to receive the condition ‘’1st National Excellence of Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture Program’’. The National Reference Condition will be granted to Batalla de las Guásimas Base Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC), Hortícola Farm of the Youth Labor Army, and producer Raúl González.
