Lerú leads the Cuban Gymnastics Team to Pan American Games

Havana - In the absence of star Manrique Larduet, world runner-up, Randy Lerú leads the Cuban men''s team of artistic gymnastics to the 2019 Pan-American Games in Lima, national commissioner Pedro Pablo Barrios reported the eve.
In a meeting with the press, Barrios said Lerú aspires to the title in the fixed bar and a bronze in the men's team tournament, only surpassed by the United States and Brazil, while he also will compete in the all around, accompanied by Arian Vergara.
Lerú, 23, reached a bronze medal in the fourth stop of the Doha World Cup, played last March, qhile he will bear the most weight of the Caribbean team, reduced by the loss of Larduet, operated of his two wrists.
In addition, the Cuban artistic gymnastics aspires to win a silver medal with Marcia Videaux on the jumping horse.
According to the federation, Vergara (jumping horse), Lerú (parallel bars) and Alejandro La Cruz (rings) could enter the finals of eight men, in their respective modalities.
The Cuban artistic gymnastics ensembles complete their training at the Carbonell Club of Costa Rica until June 24th with a view to the continental games,from July 26 to August 11.
Raising the levels of physical burdens and achieving perfection in the executions are the priorities for the Antillean representatives in the Central American country and will have at the last moment the Cup Stars Gymnastics, from 21 to 23 of this month.
Seven men and six women, under the command of Carlos Gil and Yareimis Vázquez, assume the preparation in San José.
Barrios also mentioned Alexander Ramos, who will compete in the trampoline modality, with a fifth place forecast in the Pan-American game.
At the San Isidro sports complex in the Peruvian capital, gymnasts will contest a total of 14 titles, eight men and six women.
