President Keeps Cuba Working Tour

Pinar del Río, Cuba - Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel is leading a working tour of Pinar del Rio, the western most province, to check on development plans.

'On my way to Pinar del Rio to pay a visit of the Council of Ministers of Cuba,' wrote the Head of State in Twitter, @DiazCanelB.

A couple of weeks ago, the President led a working tour of the eastern province of Holguin, one of the island's most important regions in terms of industrial production and tourism.

Since he took office in April 2018, Diaz-Canel followed as a strategy to head government tours throughout the country to check first hand work being done and talk directly with the people.

In his visits, the President checks how developing plans are being fulfilled, particularly those designed to meet people's needs and hold meetings with local leaders and residents.

Pinar del Rio is well known for its beautiful landscape, ideal for nature tourism, and is Cuba's largest tobacco producer.
