
Artemisa, Cuba - Rafael Santiesteban Pozo, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, of the Council of State and president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), visited San Antonio de los Baños, accompanied by Oniel Fernández Pacheco and Omar Márquez Betancourt, presidents of the provincial and municipal ANAP respectively.
The visit was carried out with the objective of exchanging with the ANAP Board in the territory and with leaders of the organization in the Agricultural Production Cooperative Augusto César Sandino, the largest of the 3 Ariguanabo CPAs, in terms of land extension.
The ANAP president focused on the fulfillment of production and contracting plans and called on the cooperative members to continue increasing agricultural production, as well as to promote the planting of corn in order to substitute imports. Another of the issues addressed was the 12th ANAP Congress, to be held in May 2020.
This visit is an incentive for those who work there, in order to produce for the state commitment. The cooperative, in addition to livestock and corn, is dedicated to food and milk production, delivering 45 liters of milk daily to Comercio enterprise, 25 to 30 liters to the Balkan industry and more than 20 to the CPA workers.
