Cuban Despaigne will play in NPB All-Star Game

Havana, Cuba - Cuban Alfredo Despaigne was chosen for the 2019 All-Star Game of the Japanese Professional Baseball League (NPB), in the vote of the players with a total of 212 ballots.

According to the website www.beisboljapones.com, the Cuban slugger surpassed American Jabari Bash (130) as designated hitter.

In the people´s vote, Despaigne finished second, only behind Japanese Kensuke Kondo, who amounted 287.249 votes per 239.339 of the Caribbean player.

In the current season, Despaigne has offensive line (AVE / OBP / SLU) of .274 / .384 / .515, with 17 homers and 41 RBIs, in addition to 58 strikeouts and 40 walks.
