Former Judge Moro Must Explain Scandal to Brazilian Deputies

Brasilia - Former Brazilian Judge and Minister of Justice and Public Security Sergio Moro must appear before the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday to explain the scandal he is facing due to unpublished and compromising messages.
The president of the Constitution and Justice Committee of the Lower House, Felipe Francischini, confirmed the presence of Moro, who had to attend that meeting last week, but justified his absence with a trip to the United States within the framework of a visit in matters of Intelligence and Security.
Since June 9, The Intercept has published a series of conversations between Moro and prosecutors and investigators of the Lavo Jato anti-corruption operation through different messaging platforms.
These conversations show a violation of the Code of Magistracy, which is why Moro appeared and tried to justify cynically in the Senate about the content of the messages.
The communication with public agents raises doubts about his impartiality, as well as his lack of ethics when he was an anti-corruption judge and imprisoned former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for alleged acts of corruption.
