Mexican top sports official praises visit to Cuba

Ana Gabriela Guevara, Director of the Mexico National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), described as very fruitful her working visit to Cuba, where she held exchanges with domestic sports authorities.
Before returning to her country, she told the press that the goals of this trip to the Caribbean island were met, as they analyzed the possibilities of continuing and strengthening the ties of sports cooperation between both nations.
The Athens 2004 Olympic runner-up in the women´s 400 meters, also stressed the admiration she feels for the Cuban people to whom she owes a lot in her training as an athlete and wished them many successes in the 18th Pan American Games to take place in Lima, Peru, from next July 26 to August 11.
Guevara was seen off at Jose Marti International Airport by Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of the Cuban Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), and Marta Lidia Ruiz Perez, INDER director of international relations.

Fidel's presence was recalled in several Ariguanabo centers and institutions. Students from the Eduardo Abela Vocational School of Art, located in San Antonio de los Baños, paid tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, through dance and music.
