Cuba expresses its support for the process of dialogue in Venezuela

Cuba Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, expressed the island's support for the process of dialogue promoted by the Venezuelan government with the opposition to guarantee political peace in the South American country.

In his official account on the social network Twitter, the Cuban diplomat published: "We support the ongoing dialogue initiative of the government of the Bolivarian

Republic of Venezuela, based on the principles of International Law and on the postulates of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace".

Prensa Latina adds that with this message Rodriguez reiterated the position that the authorities in Havana have always adopted on the possibility of a peaceful solution to the Venezuelan political situation without foreign interference.

As Rodríguez recalls, this is reflected in the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, signed in January 2014 in Havana, on the occasion of the II Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States by the Heads of State and Government that make up that bloc.

In this document, the permanent commitment of the governments of the zone is manifested "with the peaceful solution of controversies in order to banish forever the use and the threat of the use of force from our region".
