Havana - Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said today his Government will invest in key sectors and prioritized when referring to Law 118 that regulates foreign investment in the island.
'We will not invest in just anything, but in the key and prioritized sectors, very well defined in Cuban law, always defending sovereignty and independence #SomosCuba #SomosContinuidad,' the president wrote on Twitter.
The day before the Caribbean head of state talked to deputies of the commission of Attention to Services of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), he emphasized that investors continue to bet for Cuba despite the pressures of the United States Government.
'No one has left, some have presented new projects and have said that they are willing to close their businesses in other places to stay here,' said Diaz-Canel.
In the Havana Convention Center, work was done this Wednesday in commissions prior to the third ordinary session of its IX Legislature. The Cuban president advocated for developing an exporting vocation, while referring to the need of replacing imports. The portfolio of business opportunities promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment includes more than 500 projects of different sectors, especially tourism.
