Pan-American Games in Lima Committed to Environment and Childhood

Lima - With the promotion of fraternity and other sports values, the Pan-American Games, Lima 2019, will have a content of commitment to the environment and the defense of childhood, organizers stated on Friday.
The president of the Organizing Committee of the event, Carlos Neuhaus, signed an agreement with Peruvian Environment Minister Lucia Ruiz so the Lima sports event will become the first Green Games, as they are environmentally responsible.
Neuhaus also signed a commitment to non-violence against children along with Mayor of Lima Jorge Muñoz and deputy representative in Peru of the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) Olga Isaza, in a huge Peruvian sports shirt.
For Neuhaus, the games are 'an opportunity to allow us as a country to be different in environmental management and improvement in the habits of all.'
Almost 7,000 athletes will compete in Lima 2019 in 39 sports disciplines.
