Action that Marked Cuban Revolution's Struggle Celebrated in France

Paris - The Cuba Cooperation France (CubaCoop) association on Thursday commemorated the assault on the Moncada Garrison on July 26, 1953, an action that described a key episode that led to the triumph of the Revolution.
In its weekly digital publication, the organization, founded in 1995 to promote friendship and solidarity with Cuba, explained the details of that action, in which youths led by Fidel Castro attacked the biggest military installation of the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship in eastern Cuba.
A military failure, as the goal of occupying the fortress in Santiago de Cuba was not achieved, the action started the path to victory on January 1, 1959, says the text, signed by CubaCoop Vice President CubaCoop.
When referring to the events that followed the attack, the association noted Fidel Castro's self-defense after his arrest, during which he presented the social justice program that the Revolution implemented. His words have still a force today, the group underlined.
