Cuban Olympic Committee President Predicts Good Results in Lima

Lima - Cuba must get good results at the Pan-American Games in Lima 2019 to surpass the results achieved four years ago, the president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Roberto Leon Richard said.
'A good performance must be given; to rise to the standards that the Cuban people are demanding, amid the efforts that are being made and the difficult conditions under which we work as a consequence of the ferrous US blockade,' he told Prensa Latina.
Richard underlined that the Cuban athletes come here with their best willingness to win the highest number of qualifications possible to the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
Although he admitted that it is hard to predict what sports might qualify, he repeated that undoubtedly 'we will return home with qualified athletes'.
What is needed is to compete well, he insisted.
