Second Edition of Josone Varadero Festival Ready

Havana - Renown Cuban and foreign artists will meet at the second edition of the Josone Varadero Jazz & Salsa Festival, which will be held from August 22 to 25 in the world-famous Cuban coastal resort, organizers said.

Among the musicians who will perform at the festival are the orchestras Los Van Van, Adalberto Alvarez y su Son, Alexander Abreu y Havana D' Primera, Francisco (Pancho) Cespedes, Eme Alfonso, Jacob Forever and Divan.

Foreign guests include the Peruvian folklorist Eva Ayllon, the ambassadors of jazz and African rhythms Weedie Braimah and The Hands of Time (Ghana), and Quintero's Latin Jazz Project, from Venezuela.

The program of the four-day event will also include performances by Issac Delgado, the rumba group Muñequitos de Matanzas, the duet Buena Fe, Haila Maria Mompie, Paulo FG y su Elite, Descemer Bueno, Alain Perez and Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco.

The festival is organized by Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM), in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism, the Cuban Music Institute and other cultural institutions.
