Italian Festival Celebrates National Rebellion Day in Cuba

Milan, Italy - With the music, dance, joy and colorful characteristics of Cuba, the 5th edition of the Milano Latin Festival (MLF) will celebrate in Milan Friday the National Rebellion Day of that Caribbean nation.
The commemoration is part of the week dedicated to Cuba in the popular annual cultural event of this Italian city, dedicated on this occasion to honor the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana.
The festival also honors Prensa Latina and the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic) six decades after its creation and the centennial of the birth of filmmaker Santiago Alvarez, through an exhibition hosted by the Center for Cuban Poster Studies in Venice.
The screening of audiovisuals, book presentations, conferences and concerts, among other activities, are part of the program of the daily days dedicated to Cuba, such as the one held on Thursday to the 60th anniversary of the founding of Prensa Latina on June 16, 1959.
Well-known Latin American and Caribbean popular music performers participate every year in the event, extending until August 17. This year's event gathered artists such as Alexander Abreu and Havana de Primera, Jacob Forever, Orishas, Wisin and Yandel and Dady Yankee, among others.
