Cuba ranks seventh in Pan Am Games in Peru

Cuba woke up today in the seventh place in the medal table of the 18th Pan American Games running until August 11 in Lima, the Peruvian capital.
The Cuban delegation has so far earned three gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
The United States (9-8-7) tops the standings after surpassing yesterday Mexico (8-5-9), followed by Colombia (4-5-5), Brazil (4-4-5), Argentina (4-2-4), Peru (3-2-3), occupants of the first six seats, in that order.
The other five countries that have so far won titles are Canada (2-8-6), Venezuela (2-0-1), the Dominican Republic (1-2-3), Guatemala (1-1-0) and Puerto Rico (1-0-1).
Ecuador (0-2-2), Chile (0-1-4) and Costa Rica (0-0-1) complete the list of nations who have achieved at least one medal.
Culture
Fidel's presence was recalled in several Ariguanabo centers and institutions. Students from the Eduardo Abela Vocational School of Art, located in San Antonio de los Baños, paid tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, through dance and music.
