Physical rehab congress to be held in October

Havana - Cuba´s achievements in rehabilitation medicine will be analyzed during the upcoming 9th Congress of the Cuban Society of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation scheduled for October 1-4 in the Cuban capital.
According to the event´s scientific program, the discussions will focus, among other issues, on the use of robotics, artificial intelligence and augmented reality in rehabilitation practices on the island.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation caters to patients who suffer different types of disabilities resulting from congenital or acquired causes, so that they can heal and ultimately return to normal life.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), It is estimated that 1 billion people in the world are disabled and that the overwhelming majority of them lack access to proper medical attention and rehabilitation services.
