Artemisa, Cuba - The Department of Prevention and Social Assistance in San Antonio de los Baños guarantees protection to all citizens through its Social Security System in the territory, (including single mothers, people with disabilities, elderly people living alone, inmates and their families; children, adolescents and youth without  without family able to support them), through emotional, economic and material support.

This type of aid includes food and hygiene items for people with chronic diseases, which are distributed in the five People's Councils according to the possibilities of the Cuban economy, included annually in the municipality's Social Assistance Budget.

The Social  Assistance System is aimed at protecting workers in the case of illness, workplace and non-workplace related accidents, maternity, disability, old age, and their relations in the case of death; as well as the working mother.
