A house for women and families

Artemisa, Cuba - Reflecting, learning and receiving specialized guidance are some of the activities offered by the Women and Families Guide Center, in the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños.
During the summer months, individual and collective lines of work are maintained with 31 employees who are committed to offer timely treatment in order to solve the problems. Training workshops are also held in student or work centers, where issues about alcoholism, drugs and sexually transmitted infections are addressed.
“One of the main objectives of the center is to incorporate most of the family members into the activities of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and the Women and Family Guide Center. Courses are currently being taught, regardless of age or academic level, in which students receive training on the different trades. The course plan includes Body Massage, Barber Shop, Hairdresser-Makeup, Commerce and Gastronomy, ”said Belkis Rodríguez, president of the FMC in Ariguanabo.
FMC members currently support sanitary actions to eliminate the Aedes Aegypty mosquito in the territory, and thus reduce its negative impact on people's health, Belkis added.
