Cuban Mission to the UN Celebrates Fidel Castro's Birthday

United Nations - Cuba''s mission to the UN celebrated the eve of the birth date of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), and highlighted how his example transcended the borders of the island and became universal.
The permanent representative of that Caribbean country to the United Nations, Ana Silvia Rodríguez, reiterated her delegation's commitment to continue working inspired by the legacy and Fidel's example, so that the Cuban people continues to reap victories in the international arena.
He transcended the borders of Cuba to become the leader and guide of all those who fight for a better world, which is possible, she said.
The Cuban Revolution showed that utopias can be achieved, stressed the diplomat.
Fidel Castro was born in Biran, a town in eastern Cuba, on August 13, 1926. From a young age, he participated in the struggles against dictatorial governments established in that Caribbean country.
He led the revolution that triumphed in 1959 and is recognized internationally for his actions in pursuit of the unity of Latin American countries and as a great statesman.
From different parts of the world, many governments, personalities and organizations have commemorated the birth of Fidel Castro, on Tuesday, 93 years after his birth date.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
