The Base Business Unit for the Recovery of Raw Materials ''UEB Materias Primas'', in San Antonio de los Baños, complies with the resolution that regulates the supply of raw materials by the state sector to the entity.

Centers such as Aluminios Técnicos, the UEB Alimentaria and the International Film and Television School are at the forefront in this important line for Cuban economic development. Law 1288 establishes the responsibilities and obligations of state agencies and units regarding recovery, processing, and commercialization of recyclable materials.

The UEB maintained until June the price increase of some metal products in the private sector, which led to the commercialization of products such as aluminum, tin, steel, cast iron. Currently, the recycling process has increased due to higher rates.

Guideline 193 of the VII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba remains in force, which proposes to strengthen recycling and increase the added value of recovered products, mainly in activities with greater economic impact and with fewer resources, according to the possibilities of the economy.
