Summer 2019 has just ended. During the months of July and August, various community activities brought art not only to urban popular councils, but to several rural areas in San Antonio de los Baños.
The Municipal Culture Directorate organized brigades composed of promoters, art instructors and specialists from the José Rafael Lauzán Municipal Museum, the Humor Museum, the Eduardo Abela Provincial Center for Visual Arts, the Julio Rosas Municipal Library, as well as members of the Amateur Artists Movement and outstanding professionals from the municipality.
Music, theater, plastic arts and dance reached La Cañada, La Pequena or El Candado rural communities, among others. Parks, sports areas and public spaces of the Villa hosted the Veraneando activity, an interesting proposal of the Raymundo Valenzuela House of Culture. Some musical groups performed at the Onceno Festival amphitheater, including DJ Riversound and the Rap group ‘’Hay que estar claro’’, in addition to theater shows at José Martí Park.
Museums not only reached the community, but also cultural institutions. Exhibitions dedicated to the Federation of Cuban Women, Fidel Castro Ruz and Rubén Suárez Quidiello were inaugurated. The exhibition, corresponding to the International Biennial of Graphic Humor, is still displayed at the Museum of Humor.
