Brasilia - Brazilian workers will take to the streets in 130 cities this Saturday, September 7, Independence Day, to defend their rights and national sovereignty, which they feel are threatened by the government of Jair Bolsonaro.

A press release from the Unified Workers' Central (CUT) indicates that on Saturday the working class, also summoned by other organizations, will join the mobilizations of the 25th 'Cry of the Excluded' mobilization, with the slogan: 'This system is not valid: we fight for justice, rights and freedom.'

'A system that sells-off public assets, state companies, banks..., the Amazon and the people's dream of a sovereign country is not for the working class,' stated CUT Secretary General Sergio Noble.

He insisted that unions affiliated to the CUT and the Brazilian left must take to the streets on September 7 to demonstrate that Brazil is a grand independent nation and also to prepare and strengthen the national mobilization in defense of education, public heritage and the Amazon.
