Managua - The first International Tourism Fair, Nicatur 2019, opened this Friday in the Nicaraguan capital with the attendance of 89 exhibitors from the country, 64 major foreign tour operators and 32 specialized media.

The event was inaugurated with a protocol ceremony in the Hall of Mirrors of the Ruben Dario National Theater, where Minister of Tourism Anasha Campbell said that the event had exceeded the expectations with the attendance of foreign specialists.

'Nicatur is an event where we want to showcase our culture, traditions, identity, through dance, music, making a tour of the regions of Nicaragua, enjoying the cuisine and we give you, on behalf of Intur, our government's most cordial welcome to this land of lakes and volcanoes,' Campbell stated.

The fair aims to promote Nicaragua as a tourist destination for nationals and foreigners, to publicize all that the country has to offer in addition to sun and beach destinations, colonial cities and natural beauties.

The meeting aims to be the main platform for tourism marketing and exchange between national and foreign operators.

Nicatur 2019 is attended by wholesalers (tour operators capable of mobilizing large groups of tourists) from North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia; all very interested in Nicaragua as a destination thanks to the promotional campaign organized by Intur, whose positive results have been reflected in specialized publications.
