A meeting on journalism in Artemisa

Jorge Velázquez Ramayo, analyst, journalist and researcher, recalled that the truth is to be said. He stressed the importance of the analysis to deal with recurring issues that the press should not ignore, for example, the new price regulations. He called on them to keep the people informed as they trust Cuban journalists.

During the meeting, communicators from institutions such as the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, the Provincial Court and the Directorate of Culture, presented their experiences acquired in recent years, based on the expectations of the nation regarding Social Communication.

Odalis Acosta Góngora, president of the Upec in Artemisa, referred to the role of each media to disseminate the reality we have built. “We have to be aware of everything that happens, and we are authorized to inform the people. We will soon have our Press House; there we will create a space for permanent reflection in order to grow as a province ”.

The Cuban Workers Union (CTC) and the Culture Union, highlighted the work carried out by journalists Miguel Terry Valdespino and Joel Mayor, who were awarded the Raúl Gómez García Distinction, receiving the praise of the CTC, union leaders, the people, and of his colleagues, for the merit achieved during 25 years of work in the sector.
