Artemisa, Cuba - The Base Business Unit 'UEB Semillas' is working on the production for the Cold Campaign in order to ensure the supply of grains to the various agricultural companies and cooperative units, in the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños and the province of Artemisa.
According to Yoannys Rodríguez Vidal, director of the company, seeds are sold for the cultivation of onion, tomato, cabbage, carrot, chard and beet. He also noted that the treatment of the seeds of several varieties of beans, which are sown during this season, is also carried out.
Rodríguez Vidal stressed that the crops obtained from the seeds produced in the company are distributed to the population and contribute to import substitution. This company supplies its productions to the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños, the province of Artemisa and some agricultural markets in Havana.
Focused on ensuring production with the required quality, they work to fulfill their productive plans during the campaign, which will run until February.
