Havana - Cubans are expressing on Wednesday their support for the government and people of Venezuela, a South American country that is experiencing an economic, commercial and financial war starring the United States and its regional allies.

Citizens across Venezuela have signed a document which rejects the unilateral measures issued by the White House, aimed at overthrowing constitutional President Nicolas Maduro.

The hostile policy against Caracas seeks to create social unrest and convince Venezuelans to give up on building their own destiny following Chavista principles.

The initiative to sign the document rejecting US policy towards Venezuela, to be presented to the UN General-Secretary, this MOnday extended to Cuba, where people of all ages will add their signatures in educational centers and workplaces across the country.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel recently denounced that Washington's measures are intended to promote regime change in Venezuela.

Venezuela was the first country Diaz-Canel visited after taking up his post as head of the State, and Nicolas Maduro was the first president to travel to Cuba after the Cuban president took office.
