The president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, had a cordial meeting with Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu, prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints of the Holy See.
Cardinal Becciu is in Cuba to celebrate Mass for the recently deceased Cardinal Jaime Lucas Ortega y Alamino.
Both parties exchanged on relevant issues of the bilateral agenda and the positive state of relations, which will reach their 85th anniversary in 2020.
The dialogue, according to the Cuban National Television Newscast, confirmed the coincidence of positions on issues such as the preservation of peace, the fight against poverty, inequality and social exclusion, as well as the protection of the environment.
