Beijing - China has chosen Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon as the official mascots of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Bing Dwen Dwen is a chubby giant panda wearing a suit of ice and with a colorful circle around its face. Meanwhile, the Paralympic Winter Games mascot, Shuey Rhon Rhon, wears a red suit reminiscent of the famous Chinese lantern, with snow details around its eyes and head, which simulates the Earth and also contains white doves as a symbol of peace.

Both carry on their bodies the symbols of the event, to be held February 4-20, 2022.

In August 2018, the organizing committee launched a worldwide competition for artists from around the world to present proposals for the mascots.

According to the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, the launch of the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games mascots is a significant moment for China.
